Day 1 - Monte Gordo / Vila Real de San Antonio
After arriving late, a quick post wide angle photograph from the balcony, unfortunately not going to be as good for stars with more light pollution than in Santa Luzia last year:

Travelling light today with the tiny Sony Nex 5R + 35mm f1.8 lens.
Walking to / waiting for the bus to Monte Gordo:

Monte Gordo beach area was lively enough but for a large tourist area it was eerily quiet in town. We had a pizzetta for lunch and were the only table.

Decided to walk to San Antonio through wooded area, the shade was welcome:

V.R.S Antonio (as the front of the trains calls it) was better than we remembered it, the putting up a fair last year taking away from the peace and quiet of a walk along the river front. The square with orange trees and a few market stalls. The afternoon light more interesting than when we had been at midday.

Home on the bus.

Quick camera swap (as the Nex-6 goes on a tripod a little more easily) for a photo of our hotel “Maria Nova” and a 346 second exposure looking south.
