November 2016. Over the years we have been working our way across the Algarve coast of Portugal from West to East. This year was the turn of the fishing village of Santa Luzia.
St Luzia - first evening
A little train ride to the beach, several mosquito bites at sunset:

Some roof top terrace stars. So much fun to be able to sit in a plastic patio chair and locate the North Star, Polaris. Pretty easy to find a rough North when you know the coast behind you runs West to East.
Once found point the camera at the middle and set off hundreds of 30 second exposures. Glad I brought a little tripod!

Another from our terrace and a few from a terrace in the Square, access courtesy of the Tapas bar owner.

The locals at the “snack bar o parque” were pretty confused as to why I was photographing the same little tree on different days.

A few around the main fishing area:

The dogs usually walk themselves:

Waiting for a little light rain to pass before setting off for the beach:

The 2km walk to Tavira
An almost daily walk either to visit Tavira or get a train. Decently lit good pavement on one side with a wide cycle lane on the other. No huge potholes. Manchester, feel free to be embarrassed.

Tavira
The river area

Around the castle area including a viewing of the Camera Obscura in an old water storage tank!

A look around the other side of the river then back for sunset:

Cabanas
Another nice place to stay / eat a bus ride from Tavira.

Quatro Aguas
walk between the salt flats:

Ria Formosa
Walk from St Luzia along the Ria Formosa to Tavira Island (15)
A lot of the towns along the coast (like Fuzeta where we were last year) are separated from the Ocean by a costal lagoon.
An hour or so along the beach and you can go from St Luzia to Tavira Island and then catch a cheap ferry to Tavira.

The ferry boat has a collection of dummies left behind!

Faro
Faro is a 40 minute train ride away from Tavira.

20 minutes while waiting for a Train:

Last morning
Back to St Luzia with a last Galão (espresso and foamed milk)
