I’ve been visiting Buxton all my life.
School holidays to Great Hucklow always included a day here.
My dad was fascinated with the Micrarium that used to be in the pump room.
Though our January move here was a little unexpected we couldn’t have landed in a better town.
From chats at our gate with passing locals, to the buses, shops, parks and pub, everyone has been really friendly.
These photographs are mostly from short evening walks to the country park, Pavillion Gardens, the slopes with crocuses (and my jackdaw friends) and even wild flowers along pavements’ edges. Snowdrops, crocuses, magnolia, bluebells, a simple buttercup - it has been a privilege to watch everything grow.
By the way, if you’ve seen someone in the park strangely close to the Alchemilla that holds shimmering water droplets, that was probably me.
Say hello next time, especially if you are interested in photography.
