Driving up to Lumley Castle in Durham in the fog I had a photo just like this in mind, the whole castle front and the couple.
A “we got married here” photo if you like:

I’d got there very early and had some time with the boys:

I got some posed group shots the other side of this gate but I do like the candid shots and I like the way the dark suits stand out against the light stone.

And another inside:

Around the building:

Signing the register:

I really like this photograph of the harpist. When I look at it my eye goes from the harpist, along the music sheet, up to the couple, up one curtain and back down the other to complete the circuit.

Karl and Martine with brothers and sisters. A list of just ten group photos with this one being the largest was perfect for this time of year.

They didn’t seem to use this door, can’t think why! I love the mood of Jen’s shot on the right:

I liked the framing in this one of Karl:

Some romance in the castle quad, burgundy/gold toned:

The room with the lights up. Flowers by red floral architecture:

Most of the time the room had a romantic feel with what you might call bright candlelight:

Some from the speeches. Martine looking up and her dad is great.

I got called up to the bedroom by the girls. How could I refuse:

The room at night:

The happy couple framed by christmas tree and reflection:

All in all it was a lovely winter wedding. I’m so glad you had a really great day, fabulous place to get married.
Thanks for being so easy to work with. I’ll have the full gallery up before you go away.
Two December weddings done, can’t wait for the next one on the 28th!
