Behind the scenes

Its been a busy couple of months after the summer season but mostly it has been behind the scenes, sorting prints and albums.
I have designed a new sample album and it on its way – it should be fantastic.
I’ve been meeting lots of lovely people who have booked for 2010 too.

Experimenting with video clips using a new camera has been fun. I most certainly do not aim to be a videographer but I am toying with the idea of making one or two 5 second clips to put into the music video style slideshows. If anything is worth doing, its worth doing well, so I got a good video mic and a really good video tripod head. The clips are HD quality and excellent, even in very low light.

A couple of weddings recently:
I helped my friend Catherine out on a dark and rainy November day.
The church was dark but the light carpet goes well with the all the dresses.
Very easy going smiley crowd for the group shots. I shot them in manual mode to balance in the ambient light with the flash (which I matched for colour with the church lights).
On the right I used off camera flash to get a nice shot of Kaye in the room. Lots of detail in the back of Kaye’s lovely dress. Congrats Kaye and Craig!

My friend Martin Sykes photographed Helen and Garry’s wedding (I had a sneak peek and they look great). Another dark November day but at least it was dry for the most part. I got some extra candid shots for the happy couple while testing the newest backup camera before my December weddings.

There will be a few updates before the New Year so check back soon!

Thank you to Catherine and Andrew for taking some great pictures on our wedding day. It was a shame we didn’t get any outside shots due to the weather but you did such a great job of the inside shots that I know when we look back over our photo album we will have no regrets. It was fun to do and I think you worked really well with the wedding party. I would recommend you to anyone I know who is getting married in the future.
