Jason & Rebecca, Hey Green

I’d met Rebecca and and her sister Fiona at Nick and Danielle’s lovely wedding in 2007. Here is a before and after of sorts in the morning…

Bride and dad coming along the path to Springhead Congregational Church:

I think generally people are more relaxed when the ceremony is in a church they have been going to for a long time.
“I did it” -

Prize for the fastest Bride and Groom! 4 seconds to get down the aisle!
Well done Jason, proper sweeping off the feet stuff!

Love this colour suit against the darker complementary coloured background and the detail on the dress:

Can’t wait to see a big print of this:

Hard not to mention the speeches. Martin’s speech (Rebecca’s dad) had people crying with laughter.

I really enjoyed the day and it was great to see so many people again as well as meeting new ones.
I have just had a nice order for some prints, so here is a link to the online ordering if you didn’t see it on facebook!

Andrew, the photographs are amazing. You really have captured every emotion and event of our special day! We can’t wait to share the photographs with everyone and to choose some for the album and the wall! (I’ve been told by Jay that I have limited wall space!) I know this will be a difficult task because there are so many to choose from! Thanks again for everything!

Bev & Sharon – Heaton Park, Manchester

July 17th 2010 -the third wedding in 8 days was for Bev and Sharon at Heaton Hall. A great day to photograph, an emotional ceremony, a lot of handmade items like the wonderful table plan and, best of all, two dresses:)

I had no idea the ceremony room was so lovely inside. Really good to have some natural light coming through the large windows.

Sharon playing the flute as a suprise at the start of the speeches after taking secret lessons!

I love Heaton Park for photographs outside and luckily the sun came out in the afternoon:

Some more in the gallery below and thanks for all the comments I’ve already had on facebook!

Sharon O'Neill-Watson - August 19, 2010 - 8:32 pm

Andrew… thank you. As you know, Bev and I are absolutely over the moon with all of the fabulous pictures you have taken for us. We both feel you have caught all the emotion of the day – the joy, the love, the nerves, the humour and the happiness!! The photographs are very natural too, considering we were both very nervous about being the focus of all that attention on the day – you were unobtrusive and very professional throughout despite the hurdles thrown at you (such as the rainy weather!). Your friendly manner with all the guests was commented on by many who attended and the feedback we have had from everyone has been so positive. Finally I have to say that as a same-sex couple celebrating our Civil Patnership after 25 years together – we would recommend you to any other gay couples who are plannng their ‘Big Day’ – we researched and met many other photographers and choosing you was definitely the right decision Andrew – we knew that from the start!! love Sharon XX

Anne and Mike Sims - August 15, 2010 - 6:31 pm

What a stunning wedding and the photos are just fabulous. Not your average regimental type at all very natural photography. Credit to your photographer but also full credit to you both for a wonderful wedding, you really did surpass yourselves for everyone.

We send our love to you both and just know you will be very happy together for another 25 years.

Love Anne and Michael Sims xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Matthew & Katie – St Anne’s / White Hart

I really enjoyed the morning with Katie and bridesmaids. Katie had written a card for each bridesmaid and there was a good bit of emotion mixed in with the fun.

Great shot of the dress material and dad and the bridesmaids as they walk past the corner of the church. That puts me behind a wall so I am not in the videographer’s shot (the very talented and highly recommended Rebecca Reville).

Thanks to Father Christopher Halliday for staying behind to lock up so I could get some photos (and Rebecca could get some video) inside the church as the weather was looking like the day might be a mostly indoor affair.

While we are on recommendations…
I’ve met with Paul one of the chauffeurs from High Style Wedding Cars a few times this year and in past years.
Very experienced, professional and helpful with photos.

All the very lovely guests after the meal:

The White Hart is getting more interesting outside, the trees have grown and there is more variety and colour in the backgrounds I can get. Matthew and Katie popped out with me later on when the weather was a little better:

It was overcast and on and off light rain all day but the portable studio lighting did a great impression of a sunny day!

All in all another great St Anne’s / White Hart wedding!
Some more photos in the gallery below and on facebook.

What fantastic photos and such a lovely wedding!

Daniel & Paula, Healds Green / Royal Toby

Its quite usual for couples I photograph to become friends but to find out I was related to the bride was a first!
I’ve copied the story of the first meeting with Paula and Daniel from their personal wedding site:

“Now for a funny story about when we met Andrew…
Back in November 2009, we popped back to Manchester one weekend to visit our short-list of three potential photographers that we’d whittled down from the internet. So, off we went with Paula’s mum & dad in tow – designated chauffeurs!
Our second meeting was with Andrew, our favourite based on their websites. Our meeting with Andrew was going great, we were really impressed by the DVDs & prints that he was showing us & we were both already sure that we wanted Andrew to photograph our wedding.
Then, Andrew’s mum came in to offer us tea & coffee. Upon seeing Paula’s mum, Andrew’s mum said ‘Don’t I know you?’. Much umming & ahhing followed, until we realised that Paula’s Great-Grandma & Andrew’s Grandma were sisters!
Needless to say, much gossiping ensued & we were a little late for our final appointment, oops!
We would have gone with Andrew regardless, based on his work, but it’s nice that we now also have this little story to tell!”

I grew up in Chadderton and I was walked around Healds Green as a small child. Its a lovely church for a wedding with good grounds. The “top lawn” mowed for photographs and the area at the front is an ideal space for candid photography.

I think this pale background goes really well with the dark hair, light skin and strong red:

Walking back, the top lawn being a raised area made it easy to get a low angle through the grass:

I love that the detail of Paula’s dress and the fir tree are reversed in the glass:

We love the photographs & everyone we’ve showed them to have been really impressed too. We can’t wait to see the rest. Thank you Andrew. Paula & Dan x

Reel Weddings - July 22, 2010 - 11:38 pm

Top photos Andrew. I’m sure Paula & Dan love them. Great working with you on the day and look forward to working together again someday.

Ray & Kirstie – St Lukes Heywood / Village Bury

Turned out nice again, Kirtie at home with the boys and bridesmaids.

Kirstie’s son gave her away. Look out for the image of Kirstie looking up at him in the gallery. Really great speech for a young man of any age, very clear, moving and lighthearted.

St Luke’s Church is very nice inside.

“That’s me in the corner” – The group shot is in the gallery if you are wondering why I have a camera on the end of a monopod!

I found just enough room at The Village to be able to capture the very natural way Ray and Kirstie are together:

P.S. There are some more on facebook.
